Plastic.  A versatile and necessary part of our daily lives… And a significant part of our disposable society.  Over 65,000,000,000 pounds of plastic are landfilled, burned or otherwise improperly disposed of in the United Sates each year.  Unfortunately current recycling efforts only capture about 5% - 10% of manufactured plastics, mostly in the form of bottles that we place in our recycling bins at home. 

There are many more types of plastics largely derived from oil, natural gas, coal and biomass that greatly influence everyday life. From diapers, to bottles, clothing, electronic and medical devices to cars, trucks and airplanes. Plastic is everywhere in packaging, horticulture, food processing, agriculture and many other industries.  These plastics take the form of films and containers.  Small items and large.  They are made of the same plastics that we recycle at home, but most of these plastics are overlooked and not recycled.  Until now!
