Horticultural Plastics Recycling

Each year, millions of pounds of plastics are created and used by nurseries, garden centers, landscapers, and green industry consumers in the United States.  Unfortunately most all of this material is sent to the landfill where it does not biodegradable and remains intact for 200-400 years.  Worst of all landfilling and burning this material removes a valuable resource from our use.

 Genesis Poly partners with green industry businesses and associations, enabling them to operate their firms in ways that are more, well, green!  Genesis Poly is proud to work with you to create a horticultural recycling program in your area.  We will assist with logistics, collection activities and best management procedures to insure an efficient and well run program.

Genesis Poly can accept and recycle the following horticultural plastics:

• Plastic garden pots of any size, shape or color
• Polystyrene trays - Annual trays / cell packs
• Plastic hanging baskets
• Greenhouse poly film – White and clear
• Plastic landscape edging
• Irrigation drip tape (no PVC pipe)
• Bags - Fertilizer, mulch and salt
• Fertilizer jugs and containers
• Pesticide jugs (these must be triple-rinsed, by law)
• Shrink wrap--clear, white, and black
